What type of concrete pump do I need?

Ground line pumps take the material from the delivery truck, via a series of steel and rubber pipes, to where it’s required. They allow you to cover distances of 150 metres or more and can be run around obstacles and through buildings where necessary. Boom pumps have a hydraulic arm to lift the piping up and over objects such as walls and houses to enable the concrete to be delivered to areas where the concrete line pumps may not access.

When would I need to hire a concrete pump?

Using a pump is perfect when you are dealing with large volumes of concrete or when time is tight and you don’t have the manpower to use wheelbarrows (you can pump approx. 1m3 of concrete per minute).
You will also need to use a pump if the concrete mixer truck can’t get close enough to the pour area or access to your site is restricted, underground, within an existing building or at height.
